Supporting Audrey Schwanz

Hello, my name is Heather Vancil. Audrey Schwanz is my best friend.

On January 1, 2022 Audrey's husband and the love of her life was diagnosed with Covid and Pneumonia. On January 2nd Kyle was admitted to Ascension Mercy Hospital into the ICU unit. On January 7th Kyle went onto a ventilator. No one would have ever thought a 35 year old healthy strong guy with no underlying health conditions would end up where we are today.

This has been an absolute nightmare and no one ever thought we would be to the point we are at now. Over the last 3 days different doctors and surgeons are now saying that we are at the point Kyle is not going to make it. Tomorrow Monday January 24 Audrey is wanting one more opinion of Dr. Foley. Kyle's blood oxygen is so low and his carbon dioxide level is too high and he is starting to show signs of sepsis now.

Audrey has to make the decision on when to remove the ventilator to prevent him from further suffering. Nothing more can be done. Kyle has put up such a strong fight its all just so very hard to process everything.

Audrey and Kyle have always kept their finances separate and it will take time for things to get transferred into Audrey's name. Kyle's Medical Leave of Absence from work has still not been approved either and they cannot clarify what date that will be process and accepted either. Audrey has continued to try work since Kyle first went in.

She is at the point now she cannot work she has to much to figure out and to try to process to make decisions that no one should ever have to make. Her employers and co-workers have been absolutely amazing with understanding and covering her shifts. However she doesn't know when she will be able to return to work and bills still need to be paid and she still needs to be able to take care of herself until everything is sorted out which could take months.

Audrey is someone who would do anything for anyone else. She is not good at all for asking for help at all but she is going to need some help.

All the love and support of everyone who has reached out since this nightmare first began means the world to her. Everyone who has ever met Kyle truly knows how awesome of a guy he is! Kyle is Kyle and there's no words to describe the most amazing guy in the world!!!

I want to apologize for anyone who is reading this and finding out about Kyle for the first time. We have tried our best to keep people in the loop at to what was going on.
