Supporting ash’s cancer journey

Hi, my names Maddy, I am fundraising for my sister Ashleigh who has been diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma at age 33.

Ash has just started her first round of chemotherapy, the first week of a intense 3 month treatment process, after which she will be reassessed to see if the cancer is still present.

Ash has already started to see the intense side effects of chemotherapy including hair loss. Among the list of side effects is extreme fatigue, nausea, intense headaches and the inability to work. Being new to the workforce after being at university, her sick/ annual leave accrual isn’t enough to support living expenses and medical costs.

Cancer treatment isn't only challenging for the patient, it's expensive. Ash’s health insurance does not cover her expenses due to her not being ‘terminal’. Therefore the many associated costs with treatment are out of pocket.
