On December 17th, Amy was rushed to the ER in Gainesville, GA after losing function to the right side of her body. She was diagnosed as having multiple strokes to both sides of her brain. The strokes affected her bodily motor functions as well as thinking and speaking abilities.
She spent almost a month, including Christmas and New Year’s, in the hospital having tests, diagnosis, and inpatient rehabilitation. Amy has been making incremental improvements and is now able to walk and speak but she still has a long road ahead, both physically and mentally. She is out of the hospital and has temporarily moved to Illinois to stay with her Uncle Brad where she will begin out-patient rehabilitation for several months.
As most of you know, Amy’s life purpose is her Christian missionary work and effecting change around the world. She was raising support to fund her work, teaching communities how to spread the word to people not yet reached by the gospel. Amy has a servant’s heart and has dedicated her life to following the Lord. This requires great personal dedication as well as relying on the financial support of friends, family, and others. She had just changed jobs to work with Reliant/Perspectives, as such her entire income and benefits is based on this financial support.
Because of these strokes she is challenged with an unforeseen financial burden. The medical bills have started pouring in from her hospital(s) stay and her out-patient rehab costs will begin shortly. She had just recently changed her insurance and is responsible for two deductibles and max-out-of-pocket for 2018 as well as new costs for 2019.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 to cover Amy’s medical expenses not covered by insurance. Amy would appreciate any amount given. We hope that with your financial gift she can focus on her recovery and not stress as much about how to make ends meet. We ask for your continued prayers and encouragement. We are hopeful for a full recovery so she can return to her selfless path of changing the world for the better.
