Supporting Amanda: A Mom's Love, Strength, and Resilience

Amanda Harley is the embodiment of love. She is a remarkable single mother, sister, friend, community member, and so much more. For those who’ve had the pleasure of hearing her charming humor radiate through her beloved British accent, you know her indescribable warmth. But above all, Amanda’s greatest pride has always been her children.

Amanda works as a paraeducator supporting students with special needs. Her dedication for caring for others stemmed from her son, Lucas, who has developmental and intellectual disabilities and relies on her for unwavering love, support, and advocacy. For Lucas, Amanda is truly everything. At the same time, she has been a best friend, mentor, and inspiration to her daughter, Saskia. Their bond is a testament to years of shared laughter, resilience, and deep affection. Having traveled the world, touched countless lives, and fought for her own freedom, Amanda would say her greatest accomplishment is raising her children

Amanda’s strength has long been an inspiration to many, but we must now ask for your help in supporting a woman who has done nothing but devote her life to supporting others. On Thursday, March 6th, Amanda suffered a hemorrhagic stroke, caused by a severe ruptured aneurysm that she continues to battle as you read this. She is currently in the ICU, where she will remain under excellent care for the coming weeks. Once she overcomes this battle, Amanda will require extensive medical support and rehabilitation. If anyone can conquer the devastating effects of this horrible incident, it’s Amanda. But she needs our help.
