Supporting Alto ISD

Donation protected
On Saturday, April 13th both an F2 tornado and an F3 tornado ripped through the small town of Alto, Texas leaving 37 miles of destruction behind. In its path was Alto ISD and the facilities.  The school is quite literally the heartbeat of this town where students and families spend so much of their time throughout the year, and while insurance will help with the cost of rebuilding the structures, the contents purchased by school employees and the teachers that make the classrooms complete and encourage the students to learn and grow in the subject areas will not be replaced.

With school budgets being tight to begin with, it is easy to see that most of the "extras" in a classroom are covered by the teachers themselves and there isn't money leftover for supplies from the district. It is because of this that we have created a Go Fund Me in the hopes that we can raise money to refurbish the classrooms effected with classroom libraries, the resources and materials needed, and the basic supplies such as paper and pencils that this school district will need.

Money will also help with cost of technology for classrooms, equipment for the elementary gymnasium, and any other items that the administration and teachers need replaced.

If you find it in your heart to help this community it would be greatly appreciated. For a town that is always supportive and helpful to others in their times of need, it is now them who need the rest of us to lend a hand.

Below is a message that was sent out from the school with a personal message from the superintendent attached:

As the sun has set on another day in Alto, Texas, we would like to share our hearts.
There are no words to express our feelings at this time; we are numb, and sad, and worried, and tired ... but the collective feeling of GRATEFULNESS within our community is INDESCRIBABLE. At this time we can confidently report that no student or staff member was lost during this tragedy. We are all accounted for, but not all have remaining shelter. We ask that you continue to keep our school and community in your prayers.
We can’t begin to thank all of the schools, businesses, and individuals that have assisted today and offered continued assistance in the weeks to come. Nothing that has been done has gone unnoticed, and we apologize if we aren’t able to thank you each individually. Just know each and everyone of you have blessed our school in ways we can’t repay.

I would like to step out, without her permission, and share what our superintendent sent to her admin team. We go to sleep tonight with overwhelming emotions, but the tears are of immense thanksgiving.
These were her words ...
“No matter what the future weeks hold for us ..... and we will have tough days ..... I will not waiver in giving Glory to our Lord .... I do not have to attend any funerals this week for any of our children ... and that is worthy of giving thanks! I love you and know that God put our team together for a reason.” #ALTOgether #jacketpride
