Update

Nathan was able to stand with a walker today❤️❤️❤️

He will be moving out of PICU in the next couple of days and then starting the rehabilitation process. They will be in Edmonton for a while still.

Shelly and Brad have felt the outpouring of support and relayed these words

This is unbelievable you have no idea. Where do we even start to thank you and everyone that supported us. Our community has been so supportive and kind to our family.

Shelly and Brad Hodgins have been great friends of ours since childhood. They have watched and supported our children grow and now we have come to find out that unfortunately their son Nathan has suffered a serious spinal cord injury while playing the game he loves… Hockey. Nathan is following his dad’s footsteps for the passion of the game. Fortunately the initial prognosis is promising but at a lengthy recovery requiring Brad and Shellys’s presence. Brad and Shelly are humble hard working individuals who would never rely on anyone else’s support, but as long time friend and parent myself I feel their absolute pain and the unknown and all I could think of is how can we support them. I know there are many of you who will feel the same. Let’s show them and Nathan how much this community supports his recovery and help them through these hard times.
