Hello friends and family,
I am starting this GoFundMe for Alexis after the heartbreaking loss of her dad, after recently being diagnosed with cancer.
If you know Alexis, you know she would never ask for help or accept a handout. But in seasons like this, the weight is simply too much for one person to carry alone. Since his diagnosis in December, Alexis has been navigating her own recovery from surgery while making countless trips to Portland to be by her dad’s side—advocating for him, supporting him through his battle, and still doing her best to show up for her own family. She has carried more than most of us can imagine over these past months. Now, as she faces the overwhelming grief of losing her dad, she is also tasked with planning his celebration of life and managing his financial responsibilities as next of kin. Anyone who has experienced a loss like this knows how heavy it is to try to return to “normal” while carrying that kind of heartbreak. While we can’t take away her pain, we can help lighten the load. Easing the financial pressure during this time will give her the space to grieve, rest, and begin to heal—without the added stress of immediate expenses or even everyday needs like meals. If you feel led to give, any amount would mean more than words can express. And if you’re unable to give, sharing this page and keeping Alexis and her family in your prayers means just as much.
Thank you all for your love, support, and compassion during this incredibly difficult time.
