Hi, my name is Alex McGeoch and I am setting up this fundraiser to support my cousin Alastair Xeros and his family during an incredibly challenging time.
Their beautiful 3-year-old son, Geoffrey, has recently been diagnosed with leukaemia. This devastating news has turned their world upside down, and the 12+months ahead will involve intensive treatment, uncertainty, and enormous emotional and financial strain.
Geoffrey will need ongoing specialist treatment in Sydney, requiring the family to relocate away from their home in Wagga Wagga for an extended period of time.
This means long hospital stays, frequent appointments, and being far from their normal support networks — all while trying to maintain a sense of stability and comfort for a very young child facing a life-altering diagnosis.
Alastair and Emma also have 2 other young children at home, and the family is doing everything they can to keep everyone together during Geoffrey’s treatment.
Adding to the complexity, Emma is currently 14 weeks pregnant, with the baby due mid year - via c section due to being a high risk pregnancy, making this period even more physically and emotionally demanding.
Why We’re Asking for Help
We are hoping to raise funds to help ease the financial burden during this incredibly difficult time, including:
- Suitable accommodation in Sydney so the whole family can stay together during Geoffrey’s treatment
- Travel and relocation costs between Wagga and Sydney
- Everyday living expenses while work and normal routines are disrupted
- Helping provide the family with the required supports to have an enjoyable Christmas, despite the circumstances.
How Your Support Helps
Every donation — no matter the size — will help Alastair and Emma focus on what truly matters:
Geoffrey’s treatment and keeping their family together during this journey.
Any small amount you can spare will make a real difference for Alastair and Emma at this time and help them feel the love and support we all hold for them over Christmas.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support during this extremely challenging time.
With gratitude,
Alex McGeoch
