A word from the Alash Tour manager, Sean Quirk:
"Even in normal times, it is difficult for my dear friends, Alash Ensemble, to produce their international tours, but their 2022 US tour has been extraordinary.
Two years ago today, Alash had to cancel 2 months worth of tour dates and head home to Tuva because of the pandemic. Now, after two years, they have had to overcome Covid restrictions and massive travel expenses just to get to the US.
They were forced to travel to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, and stay there for three weeks to get their US visas, and then onto Zagreb, Croatia to get vaccinated. All of this combined with the current global situation have combined to incur expenses several times greater than what is normally necessary to produce an Alash tour.
As someone whose musical talent and essence has been forever changed by this ancient Tuvan musical tradition, it is my great honor to help them with funding their tour so they can continue to share this beautiful musical tradition with us. Many of my albums with the White Rabbit Collective and Dr. Trance were produced with instruments hand-delivered to us from these beloved brothers of mine.
