Support Alan’s Fight Against Epilepsy

Our son Alan was recently diagnosed with epilepsy at the young age of 19. It’s been incredibly challenging for us to come to terms with this news. Since he began experiencing seizures, he has lost his driving privileges, which means he now relies on others to transport him to doctor appointments, work, and other essential outings.

On Wednesday, September 24th, Alan experienced a particularly severe episode that left him disoriented and confused, necessitating a hospital stay. He is currently receiving treatment at Wilson Hospital in Binghamton, where he is undergoing various tests including EKGs, MRIs, CT scans, and blood work. The medical team has adjusted his medication and is developing a plan aimed at improving his quality of life for when he is eventually discharged.

Regrettably, Alan has lost a total of 60 pounds in recent months, primarily due to sleep deprivation, stress, and the effects of his seizures. Additionally, he has been unable to work, as he poses a safety risk to both himself and his colleagues.

In light of these circumstances, we have initiated a fundraiser to assist Alan in managing his bills, caring for his pets, and putting food on the table during this challenging period. We hope this will be a temporary measure until the right medication combination is found, allowing him to return to his regular activities and regain his independence.

We sincerely appreciate your support and consideration in helping Alan through this tough time. Thank you!
