Hi everyone,
I’m creating this GoFundMe on behalf of a dear friend who is currently recovering from a life-threatening medical emergency while her husband was deployed.
Shortly before her husband, Jesse, left for deployment, they received the joyful news that they were expecting their second child. It was a blessing they weren’t sure would happen before he left, and they were over the moon.
Yesterday, everything changed.
What started as slightly worse-than-usual cramping quickly became a terrifying medical emergency. She began experiencing severe pain, dizziness, body sweats, blurred vision, and ultimately passed out more than once. Jesse—thousands of miles away—was frantically trying to call 911 after she lost consciousness in the bathroom. He was able to get 911 contacted via a close friend who lived nearby.
Upon arrival to the hospital, the doctors discovered she had an ectopic pregnancy that had ruptured her fallopian tube.
What was hoped to be a minor procedure turned into emergency surgery. She required blood transfusions due to significant internal bleeding, and doctors had to perform a more invasive operation in order to save her life.
She is recovering in the hospital and is extremely grateful for the chance to continue being a mommy to their daughter, Ophelia.
Jesse has been granted emergency leave to come home and care for her and Ophelia for a short time, but the family had to pay for the travel expenses out of pocket—unexpected round-trip airfare during an already overwhelming time.
This family lives far from their families and many of their friends, which makes meal trains and other in-person support difficult to provide during this trying time. That being said, I thought this would be a way for us to come together to provide some support and take a little burden off of them. Any support, no matter how small, would make a genuine difference while they navigate recovery, military obligations, and the emotional devastation of this loss.
If you are able, please consider donating or sharing.
Most importantly, please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers as healing continues—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Thank you so much for your kindness.
