With broken hearts, we share the devastating loss of a loving husband and an incredible father, Nicholas Hum. He was an extraordinary man whose life was defined by strength, determination, and kindness.

He proudly represented Australia as a Paralympian, an achievement that reflected not only his athletic ability but his resilience and determination. Outside of sport, he was a highly skilled craftsman who took great pride in his work and found joy in creating things with his hands. Above all else, he was a devoted husband to his wife Mairead and a loving dad to William, Holly, and Paige, who were his world. He was a much loved and celebrated son of Christopher and Caroline and the brother to Emily and Peter who were his bedrock growing up. Nick’s family and his friends were his greatest joy. His loss has been felt deeply by all who knew and loved him.

During this incredibly difficult time, Mairead is now facing the unimaginable reality of moving forward without the heart of her life and on a single income while caring for three young children. Alongside funeral expenses, there are unfinished home renovations, a much needed new car and everyday living costs that must now be managed on a single income.

This fundraiser is meant to surround the family with love and support during the hardest season of their lives. Any gift, no matter the amount, will help ease some of the pressure and give her the space to grieve, heal, and focus on being there for her children.
