Supporting A Lee Juarez to Recovery
Our sister, A Lee Juarez, is 31 years old. She is a devoted wife and mother of three wonderful kids. A was diagnosed with Nasopharyngeal Cancer last year in 2020. She received her first round of radiation on July 15th, 2020. During this time many families weren't getting together due to the pandemic. A fought this battle with her kids and husband by her side. They drove from Zolfo Springs to Tampa 2-3 times a week for radiation. A fought hard and beat cancer January 2021.
May 21st, 2021, A was admitted to Moffitt Cancer Center. She had contracted Covid and needed oxygen. We all prayed hard and hoped for the best, but it wasn't enough. June 4th, our sister had to be intubated and put on a ventilator. Our hearts broke. We were told she had 0% of survival because she was immune compromised. A's husband, Jacob, advocated for A during this time. He said, "If A is fighting, we fight with her." Jacob had to take a leave of absences from work to help support A and take care of their three kids.
August 24, 2021, A is pulling through. She was able to come off IV sedations and is alert, and responding well. A is still on the ventilator at the moment, but the goal is to eventually ween her off the vent. She had her first physical therapy yesterday. She isn't able to talk, yet, due to the trach and vent. We are asking for any donations during this hard time for A and Jacob. All donations will be used to help pay for bills and gas to drive back and forth. Let's help A to Recovery.
A huge thank you to everyone who has helped our family. We love and appreciate you all so much. God continues to surprise us. And for that we are deeply grateful that we reached our goal! Actually, we surpassed it. Thank you, thank you!! Let's continue to Help A to Recovery!
