Romans 12:15 says, "Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep." We've shared many joyful moments with Jasiel and his family, and now, during this incredibly challenging time, they are deeply grateful for everyone who has come forward to support and "weep" with them.

On August 13, 2024, our dear friend, husband, and father of four, Jasiel Alfonso, faced a life-changing accident while starting his day in Tampa, FL. Known for his unwavering positivity, his willingness to help others, and his entrepreneurial spirit, Jasiel has always put his family, friends, and community first. His landscaping business not only allows him to support his family but also gives him the freedom to be a constant presence in their lives and ours.

That morning, as he began his workday, a vehicle struck Jasiel at 45 mph, launching him and his industrial lawnmower into his truck. The impact caused severe damage to his truck and equipment, but more devastatingly, to Jasiel himself. He suffered multiple fractures, broken bones, head trauma leading to internal brain bleeding, broken teeth, and a sutured eyebrow to eyelid. Despite these severe injuries, the paramedics and hospital staff at St. Joseph's Hospital marveled at how he survived, a true testament to his resilience.

Jasiel faces a long road ahead and will undergo surgery this week to repair the visible fractures in his skull and the broken bones throughout his body. Even in his current state, his first concerns were for the well-being of his wife and kids, ensuring that she was informed, and for his clients, worrying about the impact his absence might have on them. This selflessness is just one of the many reasons why we love and admire Jasiel.

As the head of his household, Jasiel is a provider for his family. With a mortgage, utilities, food, transportation, and other daily expenses, this accident has left him unable to fulfill the role that comes so naturally to him. Now, more than ever, Jasiel and his family need our support.

Galatians 6:2 reminds us, "Go on carrying the burdens of one another, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." We now have the opportunity to carry this burden with Jasiel and his family.
