My name is Jo Matos and I am a Director for the Joffrey Ballet School in NYC.

As we speak, there is an incredible dance story being written and we need some help to allow the next few chapters of this wonderful artists journey to be told.

Makhei has amazing tap ability with the potential for so much more. As a long-time Director at Joffrey, I have seen many artists who have both talent and a powerful story…some just needing help to keep both going. Makhei is a young man on the autism spectrum, and this is his opportunity to rise above that label, realize his dream and be a role model for others.

I am trying to raise funds for housing, meals and other incidentals for this very deserving and talented young tap dancer.

Joffrey has already granted him a FULL 2-week tuition scholarship, but his grandmother, who has raised him since he was a baby, is struggling with many of the other costs needed to make this a reality. She is doing all she can to make up the difference but has reached out for help.

We are trying to raise the money to help her cover these expenses and allow Maliki to realize his artistic potential .

I am hoping our incredible dance community: the artists, studios, parents and family members can come together for Makhei!
