Help Support ‘NowHere’

Hi my name is India Stewart-Williams and I’m working with emerging choreographers Ashleigh Furniss and Miki Rolton on a triple bill collaborative contemporary dance show called “NowHere” to be presented in Sydney, NSW in early 2026. We are looking to raise funds for dancer payment and production costs to help bring this project to life. Featuring ‘Echoes of Descent’ (first performing in Melbourne Fringe Festival 2025), ‘Oppy’, and ‘Fermata’ (both debuting in CoExist Collective’s ‘Give Me a Microphone and Some Warm Bodies’), this offers a unique chance to rework these pieces with new collaborators and fresh energy. Bringing these Melbourne-based performances to New South Wales introduces the works to a new audience, creates interstate networking opportunities for all involved artists, and gives these emerging dancers and choreographers a platform to showcase their passion and artistry. The shared human experience of feeling lost lies at the root of all three pieces as they explore the theme of being “nowhere” from vastly different viewpoints, while the title also plays on “Now Here”, reflecting our presence in the Australian Contemporary dance scene and our growth as artists. With Sydney’s diverse demographics and student populations, the show invites broad engagement and dialogue. It’s also a celebration of Melbourne’s creative culture, sharing it on the outskirts of Sydney. Finally, it is a step forward in creating paid opportunities for early-career artists.
