My name is Kathryn Banasik. I'd like to tell you about my dear friends, Danielle and Holly Archer, who recently welcomed their baby girl, Wren, into the world much earlier than expected. While they are incredibly grateful for their child’s arrival, the months ahead bring many unknowns and added responsibilities that have made this journey especially demanding.

Wren was born on December 28th weighing 2.7 lbs. She is currently in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Victoria Hospital in BC, 2.5 hours away from home, which means frequent travel over the next several weeks. These trips are necessary not only to be with their baby, but also so Danielle can pump and deliver breast milk to support their child’s care. The cost of gas, and time spent traveling adds up quickly.

At the same time, Holly — the primary income earner for their family — is currently unable to work due to new health issues that are still being evaluated. Without a diagnosis yet, there is uncertainty around what the coming months will look like, including when or how she may be able to return to work. This has made financial planning difficult at a time when stability matters most.

Over the next coming months, Danielle and Holly are managing ongoing expenses such as travel to and from the hospital, and everyday needs — with future expenses like diapers, food, and household essentials still ahead.

This fundraiser is meant to help bridge that gap and offer steady support during an uncertain time. Donations will help cover gas and travel costs now, and basic necessities for their family in the months to come. For those who prefer, support can also be given through gift cards from suggested retailers like Costco, Petro Canada, Superstore, and Walmart, sent directly to them. Theses will be used for gas, groceries, diapers, and other essentials.

Any contribution — whether a donation, a gift card or a share — makes a meaningful difference. It allows Danielle and Holly to focus their time and energy on caring for their baby and navigating the road ahead with a little more breathing room.
