Support for Simon - Gundam UK
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and members of the Gunpla community, it is with heavy heart that we bring the unfortunate news of Simon Curry (GundamUK) and his current fight for his life. Simon was brought into the hospital for a viral infection at the time - unknown and unexpected to be this serious. Yet through a series of unfortunate circumstances and uncertainty it led to what is now properly diagnosed as herpes simplex encephalitis... But due to the inflammation and the extreme pressure on his brain, it led to a stroke resulting his needing an emergency brain surgery that took place on August 28th.
As far as we know, his surgery went well, and he is in the process of recovering from the surgery. He is is beginning to regain his speech and ability to eat, however, due to the damage being located in the right hemisphere, he is currently struggling to control motor functions in the left side of his body...
Rehabilitation from a stroke is a very long and slow process of which takes many months, even years to come back from. We still don’t know the extent of the damage because Simon needs to recover from the surgery first - before running tests on how much damage the stroke has caused in his brain.
As you all may know Simon is the husband to a wonderful wife and father to two young boys. And being that he won’t be able to work or provide for his family in the meantime, we want to help provide a sense of stability for them financially. We are considering simple things like having someone to pick up and take care of the children while their mother is busy going to and from the hospital. Meals for the family as well as lunches for the children at school. Amongst a plethora of other needs that the family may have during this terrible ordeal.
So as friends, family, and community who care for Simon Curry, we are putting together an effort to help out Simon’s family as best we can to offer a bit of support in their time of need. So if you are able, we’d greatly appreciate any and all help you can give. If not - prayers, positive thoughts, and vibes would also be of great help. Reach out to Simon via his various social media and let him know we're all thinking of him!
Thank you all for your support and we will continue update and follow up on his progress in the coming weeks.
