Support for Joe

Joseph Huiras is a fighter.  Diagnosed with a rare genetic disease at age twelve, he has been battling health problems for most of his life.  His condition, dyskeratosis congenital (DC) causes premature aging of his cells and as a result he received a bone marrow transplant at age 28.  Since then, Joe has battled post-transplant health problems and most recently, before Christmas, was diagnosed with lymphoma and bladder cancer.  Now Joe, his wife Stacey, and their two girls Madison (age 10) and Adriana (age 7) prepare for another fight.

Although Joe has taken on the role of fighter, he's best known for being a loving family man and an amazing friend.  Those of you that know Joe know that there is hardly a more likable guy.  His friendly smile, easy-going nature, and sense of humor make it impossible not to like him.   Joe is just one of those guys with a pureness and lightness to his soul, that make you want to talk to him and want to know him.  Simply put, Joe makes those around him happier and better for knowing him.

Many of Joe’s friends and family have helped him as he has started to receive chemotherapy for his lymphoma and is now discussing the options for his advanced bladder cancer.  Joe and his family are eternally grateful for all the help and support he has received.  

The road to recovery will be long, so this fund is being started to help Joe and his family manage his medical costs and loss of income from Joe not being able to work.  Thank you all for your prayers and support.
