On Friday, May 25th, 2018 Chris & Carly Collins received devastating news about their unborn baby, August Christopher: weeks before he was due to be born, his little heart stopped and there was nothing anyone could do. August was delivered on Saturday, May 26th and Chris and Carly were able to spend time with their sweet boy. As expected, the Collins Family are in a state of shock and navigating this nightmare as best they can. Makai brings joy to them but it is painful knowing that he is grieving the loss of his baby brother, too. Chris and Carly are understandably not up for visitors at this time but they are so grateful for the outpouring of love they’ve received.
Many friends and family have reached out asking how they can help Chris, Carly, and Makai as they deal with this unbearable grief.
Firstly, Chris and Carly ask for prayer. Prayer that they can find peace and comfort knowing that their sweet son, August, is with Jesus; and, prayer that they can help Makai navigate this loss as well.
Secondly, there are some tangible ways those who love them might lighten their load. I know many of us have been touched by this sweet family and, while they would never expect any type of financial contributions, (your prayers and grief for their boy are what matter most to them), I know that everyone who loves them would like a tangible way to contribute.
Should you feel the desire to make a contribution, any money raised through this Go Fund Me website will go directly to Chris and Carly and be used toward any needs that arise for the family (funeral and burial expenses, food delivery services, etc.). My hope is that we can lighten the burden of the day-to-day and help contribute toward August’s funeral and burial expenses so that Chris, Carly, and Makai can focus solely on taking care of themselves and grieving this devastating loss.
