                            **** This is AMY'S Story ****
I first met Amy Jarvis on our first day of entomology lab at St. Mary's University.  I was returning after being out of school for some time and a tad reserved.  Amy's infectious bubbling over personality was sitting across from me and from the moment she introduced herself we have been best friends.  Not the short lived kind but the kind that are still there even if it's been a while since you've seen each other.  I've known Amy for 14 years and one thing I couldn't know just from being around her is that she has suffered with Chrone's Disease almost her entire life.  It is a rare thing to see her without a Smile and is always giving to those who need a hug.

With Amy's illness she would have good times and rough times when her Chrone's would flare up but her tenacious, true Newf attitude always fought to prevent her health from dictating her future.  I couldn't be more proud of when she graduated with her degree despite the obstacles she had to overcome due to Chrone's.

The most important thing to Amy is her family and she wants to be around to see them all flourish and grow old with her sisters whom she loves dearly.

Amy has been in and out of local hospital over the years with terrible flare ups and doctors really do not have a handle on her illness and it's become increasingly worse.  She worked so hard to accomplish what she has and to be rewarded with employment that could really launch her into a moment in life where she would achieve great things; but for the last 4 MONTHS AMY HAS BEEN IN HOSPITAL.
There does not seem to be any progress and at 33 years old to be able to sleep in her home or work it's been a constant struggle to stay positive.   Amy's family has decided the next step needs to be transferring her to a hospital in Toronto where they have a specialized Chron's Treatment facility.  Someone will need to travel with her and it is not covered under provincial health care.

No one wants Amy's family visits to only be in the hospital here ~ she is not improving and it's time she receives the specialized care she needs to regain her vitality and zest for life!
