Dr. Shaoxian Yu's Legal Fees

Donation protected
In February, the leadership of George Mason University separated Dr. Shaoxian Yu from his position as Associate Director of the Office of Diversity Inclusion and Multicultural Education (ODIME). He has been transferred to the INTO Mason program with the intent to release him from his contract in November. This was done without cause.

Dr. Yu has worked for the George Mason community for over 13 years and is only a few years away from retirement. This egregious decision to release him affects his retirement, his family, and his livelihood. Furthermore, the 11 student organizations and many students he advises have lost their mentor and friend. With the removal of Dr. Yu, organizations in the Asian Pacific American Coalition (APAC) have been left without an advisor without any prior notice.

As an advisor, Dr. Yu has done so much for APAC and so many other organizations and individuals he has worked with during his time at George Mason. Even during this tough time, he is still concerned about his students and only wishes to be back at ODIME so he can continue to support them.

Recently, Dr. Yu has decided to take legal action against the university's decision to separate him. In order to further support Dr. Yu, The Asian Pacific American Coalition has decided to raise money to help him with his legal fees!  Any amount would be appreciated and if you are not able to donate for whatever reason please share this page! We are incredibly grateful for your support!
