Dear Friends,
My mother, Deborah Flagg, just learned that the cancer she beat 10 years ago has resurfaced, in her lung tissue. Cancer never comes at an opportune time, but now, more than ever, this is a horrible time for her to be "out of commission" as she deals with the mammoth task of healing her body...again.
At the end of September, my father was laid off. At 65, there don't seem to be many employment lights in this particular tunnel. Now, he also needs to be able to have time off to support my mother as she undergoes chemotherapy, testing, and the other work of beating cancer.
Deb also won't be able to get a job at this time with a cancer battle on her doorstep. They are currently living on my father's social security income, which also limits the level of insurance coverage they are allowed.
They are currently living with my mother's parents, and are so grateful for the support they have been given from family and friends. I would like to help them by raising some money for them to be able to cover their living expenses, and the additional medical expenses that won't be covered by insurance.
As you know, my mother works tirelessly to give to others. I want to take this chance to give back to her and help her feel one less worry about making ends meet. She needs to focus on healing, and being strong in the face of this cancer journey.
