My father, David Blake, had a large ischemic stroke on August 8th. An ischemic stroke is caused by a blockage in an artery within the brain, usually by a blood clot. It damaged the left side of his brain and paralyzed the right side of his body. It also caused him to lose his ability to speak, swallow, and eat. He has since been in a Neuro ICU and moved on to a rehab center.
My dad is a father of three and works in a supervisor/manager role. I just started a business career in California and my siblings are in their late teenage years. His children and his wife, Lili Blake, are the focus of his daily life. Sadly, this medical tragedy will affect his ability to work, drive, and perform everyday tasks.
I have started this GoFundMe Campaign along with my mom (Lili), brother (Robert), and sister (Jasmine) to help him with medical expenses and general financial support (mortgage, bills, school expenses, groceries, etc.) as he recovers. We anticipate his long-term medical expenses will surpass our initial financial goal. But we are hopeful that this campaign will alleviate some of his financial burden so he can recover with minimal stress.
So thank you all for your support and prayers. Robert, Jasmine and I will keep you posted on his progress through Notifications on this page. Please check back often and share with your friends and family on social media and via email. The more people who know about David's situation, the more good vibes and prayers will come his way. Thank You!
