Support Cheyleia Gomes in her fight against DIPG

Cheyleia has been receiving treatment in a medical trial in New York. Her family continues to struggle financially with the cost of medical bills and traveling expenses. Her continued treatment/medication is also extremely expensive. While our fundraiser began as a means to get Chey to Disney, it is now so much more than that. She continues to battle DIPG and the side effects of her treatments. She has not been feeling her best and will need as much support as she can get from everyone.
We are hoping to raise money to assist her family with medical bills and travel expenses, and if we can, we would still love to get her to Disneyland. This fundraiser will first go towards any medical expenses that Cheyleiaʻs family still needs to cover. The remainder will go towards getting her to Disneyland. Her health is the priority, so medications and treatment costs will exhaust funds first. Tomorrow is never promised and the statistics for DIPG are against us. I would personally love to see Cheyleia win her battle. She will continue to fight if we can help make sure she can afford her trials. If we exceed our goal, I would love to see her wish come true and get her to Disneyland.

**UPDATE** Since we first launched this campaign for Chey, some things have changed. Cheyleia's family has learned that the first medical tried she underwent was not successful. You'll notice we took a break from pushing for Disneyworld because the focus and priority was on getting Cheyleia into another trial treatment and raising funds for that. Disneyland has reopened, so instead of Disneyworld, we are trying to get Cheyleia and her family to Disneyland. Please consider making a donation!
***ORIGINAL*** Cheyleia is a 9 year old girl who was diagnosed with DIPG last year. You can see in her photos how drastically DIPG has changed her physical appearance, but as I've gotten to know Chey and her family, what you don't get to see in her photos is how much pain Chey is in and how uncomfortable she is, how she is surrounded by the overwhelming love of her family and how hopeless they feel watching her endure the battle she has to fight, and how she continues to remain positive and hopeful regardless of how scary and difficult this all is for her. Through it all, Cheyleia's family stands firmly planted on their faith and continues to lean on God.
Cheyleia's battle against DIPG has been extremely difficult for her and her family. Cheyleia was so blessed to have been able to undergo experimental treatment in New York thanks to the generous support of everyone who contributed towards her original fundraiser, but with no known cure for DIPG, she continues to fight for her life every single day. Cheyleia is often in a lot of pain and has been finding it difficult to not be able to do the things children normally get to do, like play with her brothers and sisters. While their family does have another gofundme for her medical expenses which continue to accumulate (these funds are used specifically and ONLY for her medical treatment), I have created this particular gofundme to help Cheyleia cross a very big item off of her bucket list.
Cheyleia has never been to Disneyworld and it is her dream to go experience it and create memories with her family. I talked to her mom about Cheyleia's wishes for this trip and the travel expenses would include:
• 11 airfare tickets for Cheyleia, her parents, siblings, and grandparents
• 10 days at Disneyworld for ample time to experience it as they are anticipating moving slowly for Chey and needing to leave the park to take resting breaks as she needs them
• Potentially visiting Universal Studios and Sea World
• Air BNB for the family to stay at for the duration of the trip
• Miscellaneous expenses
Cheyleia really wants to see the princesses, go on as many rides as she's able to, and just spend time with her family in a place she's hoping will be a distraction from their current reality of hospital rooms and all things DIPG.
