Rodrigues Family Tragedy, Funeral Fund

My family was shocked on July, 25, 2021 by the unfathomable loss of our beloved Dad and Grandpa, Robert. He was fighting a battle with Covid-19 and unfortunately due to poorly managed diabetes and lungs that were already in a rough shape succumbed to the virus. He fought the virus for about 3 weeks in the hospital, was life flighted to Billings, MT, and was in the ICU. My family is absolutely crushed as he leaves behind his wonderful wife Cherie Rodrigues, 6 children, 20+ grandkids, and 1 great grandkid.

I are starting this fundraiser in hopes of raising finances not just for funeral and medical expenses, but also to help my Mom going forward. My Mom and Dad were together for 50 years since they were children themselves. Robert has been the sole provider for my Mom and I would appreciate any support, financial as well as prayers for the whole family.

My Dad was a man of few words. He didn’t just tell his family what it means to be a Christian he showed them. He showed his family what it means to love, work hard, be generous, and faithful. He worked so hard providing for his family that he broke his earthly body. He was so generous that he sacrificed his own needs and retirement. He demonstrated faith by never turning his back on God or his family. Robert’s actions showed love and spoke larger than words. He made an impact on everyone he met, more often than not by just sheer humor. My Dad and Mom created a home that was a gathering place, open to anyone, people were always welcome.

While I don't understand why this happened, I do know that God is in control, and He is near to the brokenhearted. We also know that Robert is with his Savior, and for that we rejoice, even through the tears, the questions, and the heartache. All proceeds will go to aid my Mom, Cherie Rodrigues.
