Support the Cannarella's

Donation protected
My name is Claire Ward, I'm currently a senior at Dexter High School. This past Saturday, a classmate and friend named Justin Cannarella lost his mother. Monday morning, Justin came to school with a completely different demeanor. The usual jokester wasn't laughing with us. Many Dexter families had learned of his mom's passing, but I'm afraid a majority still haven't.

Justin is loved by every student and teacher at DHS. For as long as I can remember, he has walked down our hallways handing out high-fives and greetings. Despite struggling with learning disabilities, Justin has never been anything but kind. He is always willing to help a friend, participate in classes and extracurriculars, and talk to those in need.  Justin is an important part of our senior class of 2017.  Justin's mom, Lisa, was an amazing woman. She fostered 25 children and adopted 4, including Justin.

Now, in a time of such grief, the Dexter High School class of 2017 wants to pull together and show our support for our loved classmate. We want to raise as much money as possible to gift to the Cannarella's in hopes of making this hard time easier.

No child should have to grow up without a mother, and Justin is no exception. Despite overcoming hardships, he has grown into a very sweet person, one that my pupils and I enjoy having in our lives. My goal, representing my class, is to do whatever I can to help Justin and his family. We want justin to know he has the support of his entire class, his entire school, his entire community.
