"Excellent writing!" said the University of East Anglia Creative Writing Department. UEA has a reputation for producing great authors like Ian McEwan. Kazuo Ishiguro, Anne Enright, Rose Tremain, Diana Evans, and Louise Doughty.
So they offered Aprajita Agnihotri a place to start on the BA English and Creative Writing degree course in September.
We know Aprajita's an excellent writer. As director of The Novelry , I was impressed with the idea of her very ambitious novel chronicling seven lifetimes in India through history, when she arrived at our online writing course aged just nineteen. She's now twenty, and she's completed her sensational novel and wants to develop it for submission to agents. (Literary agents have told her she's very close.) And she wants to write the next novel too. Aprajita Agnihotri will be a published writer, one day and soon.
There's one problem, and that's funding her course overseas fees. She needs to raise the first year's fees fast. By the end of July.
We are standing behind her, we believe in Aprajita and we are making a significant donation on behalf of The Novelry, but we need your help. Please pitch in, anything you can, and help a talented, determined young person realize her dream to study creative writing. You'll be so glad you did one day, when you just can't put that book of her's down!
As a thank you, we will be offering anyone who makes a donation of £50 or more to this important and life-changing campaign a £50 voucher against our courses. See this page for more details - thenovelry.com/campaign
Please share this with friends, readers, book lovers and writers. #supportanauthor.
Founder, The Novelry.
A Letter from Aprajita.
I’d like to thank you for reading this page and considering supporting me. I have wanted to write since I was a little girl stealing away from math class to huddle in the school library to read "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe" which to this day remains my favourite children's novel. From reading stories came the desire to write stories, and the dearest wish of my heart is to tell stories that can transport sad little girls to places of happiness and ecstasy. I want to create my own Narnias and Hogwarts. My upbringing has instilled in me a deep reverence for my culture and heritage and I wish to share my knowledge of India and its magnificent history with the world. Unfortunately, I cannot do this on my own and need your help. I promise to be a determined and passionate student who will make the best use of your contribution.
