Support Abeer from Gaza

Hi, my name is Ashley, I live in the United States, and I’m raising funds for Abeer and her family in Gaza. I have been in contact with Abeer for several months and at this point and have gotten to know her. All donations directly benefit Abeer and her family. 

Abeer’s story:

I'm Abeer Al-Shorfa, a 24-year-old woman from Gaza. My life has been a journey marked by conflict and resilience. The hardest decision I've ever made was to leave my city gaza, believing it was the only way to save myself. I fled to Egypt, only to find that the hardships there were even more overwhelming than the war I had left behind. For eight harrowing months, I lived through the brutality of conflict, feeling as if I had lost a part of my soul. I left my family behind in war, death and famine and I wanted to return to them once again but the closure of the crossing was a big obstacle for me, so I had no choice but to start over here. Although I miss my family and the embrace of the family and I miss my little brother Mohammed, I was forced to start over for their sake. 

Now, I stand alone in a foreign land, trying to rebuild my life from scratch. With no family or support, I've faced the daunting challenge of finding my footing. I find myself reaching out for help, not just for me, but for every young woman in Gaza who dreams of independence amidst despair. I long to start anew, but the reality is stark: rent, food, and basic necessities are beyond my reach. 

Despite my determination, finding work as a Palestinian is a constant battle. I have a vision to turn my passions into a project that can sustain me, but I need your support to make it a reality. With your help, you can empower a girl who has faced tremendous loss to rise again and become the independent woman she dreams of being.
