Our Beloved Tudy
Arthur Trevino, Jr. (Tudy) is 46 years old. He is a single Father of three children, Izabella, Sierra, and Izaac. His children are his life; he is a devoted and loving Father, and an equally devoted and loving son and brother. Currently, Tudy is fighting for his life. With your help, we know he will emerge victorious.
The Diagnosis: Tudy's 2015 New Year's resolution was to get in the best shape of his life; thinking about his kids, he wanted to ensure he would be there for them for a very long time. He began working out and he changed his eating habits. The first week of April, however, Tudy noticed blood in his stool. He immediately scheduled a Colonoscopy. Several days later, on April 15, 2015, Tudy was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon cancer; a subsequent Cat-Scan revealed one large tumor on the colon and seven tumors on his liver. There is no family history of cancer and Tudy is so young. We are still in disbelief.
The Prognosis: Some of you have asked about Tudy's prognosis. His surgeon estimates his life expectancy at 4 years; his Oncologist estimates his life expectancy at 2 Yrs. 9 Mos.
The one thing we know for sure is that God is the only one who knows when He will call each of us home. While we appreciate the doctors' wisdom, we have faith . . . and hope.
Past Treatment: Following the doctors' recommendations, Tudy has undergone Chemotherapy for the past several months. These treatments are incredibly hard on the body and have unimaginable side effects. The drugs administered through Chemo do not just kill cancer cells, but good cells too. The Chemo is painful, and leaves Tudy too weak and sick to care for his children. Fortunately, his parents (Arthur and Maggie) have moved in with him to help care for him and the kids. Tudy is so very thankful for this blessing.
Hope: The doctors have recommended that Tudy get surgery on his liver and that he contine with Chemotherapy (and then Radiation). Tudy has decided NOT to go this route.
Tudy has spent countless hours researching and studying alternative cancer treatments. He found one that he wants to pursue; there are books written about it (The Gerson Miracle), as well as a very informative DVD documentary on YouTube that documents the success of this alternative treatment: Dying to Have Known. In short, instead of infusing the body with poison, this treatment focuses on diet and other less intrusive means. Western medicine, however, does not recognize this treatment, despite the fact that thousands of people who have undergone this alternative therapy are now cancer free! To get this treatment, Tudy will need to travel to Mexico and participate in at least three weeks of treatment at a cost of $5,500 per week. People may have differing opinions about alternative treatments and that's okay. But it is Tudy’s body, and therefore, Tudy’s choice - and we support him.
We are very hopeful that the Gerson Treatment will offer Tudy a cure, not just prolong his life by 6 months or a year (what Chemo and Radiation offer). Either way, the Gerson Treatment will afford Tudy a much higher quality of life for however long he has on this Earth.
Our request: In addition to the Gerson Treatment costs, Tudy's past chemotherapy, as well as other doctor bills and labs, are beyond anything we can afford. Then there are the kids. It is back to school time and these teenagers need things. If Tudy travels to Mexico to undergo treatment, he cannot continue to work. Additionally, there are other costs associated with the Gerson Treatment. The food Tudy will need to buy is very expensive and, because it is mostly juicing, we will need to buy a lot of it!
We are a proud family who never thought we would consider asking for financial help, but Tudy's life depends on it. As a result, there is no more pride. We ask for you to partner with us so we can get Tudy to Mexico as quickly as possible. If you cannot help financially, we understand. We ask instead that you please pray for Tudy -- for courage, for peace, and for complete healing, and that you pray for strength for his children, parents, and all those who love him.
God bless you and thank you for your support.
