Our spunky energetic Skyler Broadhead started feeling sick with fevers, fatigue and flu like symptoms a few days after Christmas. Searching for answers they went to several different doctors, hospital and labs.
On February 24 Skyler had a bone marrow biopsy at Primary Childrens Hospital. The following morning February 25 Skyler was diagnosed with Pre B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). He had his first Blood transfusion, spinal tap and his Power-Port inserted into his chest for easier access with the Chemo on Thursday February 26th.
Skyler will be going through chemotheraphy for at least 3 years which includes a weekly visits to Primary Childrens Hospital. He will be doing spinal taps and bone marrow biopsy through out treatment.
Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow, the spongy tissue inside bones where blood cells are made. Acute lymphoblastic leukemia is the most common type of cancer in children and teenagers. (ALL) rapidly progresses and creates excessive amounts of immature, cancerous blood cells. Treatments are intense. During the initial months of his treatment, the most intensive phases of chemotherapy, Skyler is unable to go to school or play sports.
Skyler is one tough kid and has an amazing heart. When Skyler walks into a room you know he is there. Skyler has a quick wit, positive attitde and an amazing family by his side.
Please help show your love and support to a wonderful young man and his family . This family has helped so many of us in our community, it is our turn to help them!! Any amount would be appreciated.
