Hi everyone! I'm Katherine (Katya/Max) and my 5 y.o. kitty Zuzya is currently in dire need of emergency care.
We have been in and out of the ER with her for the past 5 days after several days of vomiting. After diagnostics, she was found to have pristine bloodwork but severe GI inflammation, and was diagnosed with IBD and potential small cell lymphoma.
At the moment, no amount of outpatient care is helping her conditions, and after consulting 2 veterinary sources for several days - she was recommended to be hospitalized until they are able to get her in for a further biopsy and diagnostic appointment.
To be transparent about costs: her initial ER intakes and outpatient medicine costs amounted to $2500 and I am currently sitting in the ER again waiting for hospitalization for the next 48 hrs., which will be an additional $5000 cost at the minimum. Following that, a biopsy will also be several thousands of dollars and I will update the sum as soon as I get an estimate.
At the moment, she is in a rather critical condition and is at severe risk of liver failure due to her lack of nutrition, so this is truly unavoidable, life-saving care.
I understand that this is a lot for a cat, but Zuzya is my entire world, and I am already a puddle of tears thinking about what could happen to her.
If you are able to help in any way, my little family will be forever grateful. <3
