Hello everyone,
I am making this GoFundMe due to very unfortunate circumstances. I’d like to tell Zurhie’s story.
My daughter Zurhie, 4, who is Autistic & Nonverbal, woke up on July 16th and wasn’t responsive to her name. She couldn’t stand, walk, or even sit up. I instantly knew something was wrong.
Zurhie was rushed to the ER, where blood work and CT scans took place, and shortly after, I was told she would be transported to Johns Hopkins Children's Hospital and admitted into the PICU.
The doctors came in the evening of July 17th and said Zurhie had a very large-sized tumor on her adrenal gland above her left kidney.
A parent’s worst nightmare. Especially when all you want to do is protect your little ones.
On July 18th, Zurhie went into an 8-hour surgery to remove the tumor. Surgeons removed the tumor, the adrenal gland, and her left kidney. Unfortunately, the tumor did spread some to a renal vein which they could not remove.
Zurhie had a port placed and now is going through chemotherapy. She was diagnosed with Stage 3 Adrenocortical Carcinoma, a very rare & aggressive cancer. As a parent, knowing and seeing your child go through something like this is so heartbreaking. All you can think of is, if I could take this all away from them, you would. In a heartbeat. It puts a big hole not only in my heart but financially in our lives. Having to be beside and in the hospital consistently does take a toll financially on daily needs, bills, and even down to transportation when not being able to work.
Zurhie has a long journey ahead of her, but I know my girl is strong. While this mama needs prayers and support, her baby needs them so much more.
Any donation is appreciated no matter the amount. And if you can’t donate, a share will be enough.
This is Zurhie’s story. It doesn’t end here.
