Zuly DaSilva, my wife, was diagnosed with Lupus two years ago. For a while, we managed her symptoms, but in November, her condition began to progress rapidly. In January, Zuly was admitted to UMC hospital for further testing, where doctors discovered she had suffered a stroke due to inflammation caused by Lupus. Since then, she has faced a series of serious health challenges, including another stroke and a heart attack. She has spent much of the past months in and out of hospitals and ICUs, fighting bravely through each setback. Zuly has been a dedicated 911 professional for 7 years, serving her community with compassion and strength. Currently, she is waiting to be transferred to USC hospital to receive a higher level of care and treatment. When we return home, she will continue her recovery at a post-acute facility to help regain her strength. At this time, we don’t know how much mobility she will be able to recover, but we are holding onto hope and doing everything we can to support her journey. The funds raised will go primarily towards Zuly’s medical bills, travel expenses for treatment, rehabilitation, and daily living costs. The financial burden has been overwhelming, and every bit of support will help us focus on her recovery instead of worrying about expenses. This is not something that was easy for either of us to ask, as Zuly has always prided herself on being independent and self-sufficient. Anything helps, and we greatly appreciate your care and support during this difficult time. Thank you for standing with us and for keeping Zuly in your thoughts.
