Hi, my name is Zulayka McKinstry, and I am a single mother of five. I’m reaching out because my family’s safety was violently violated, and every day since has been lived in fear.
On October 26, 2025, around 10:30 p.m., a man I didn’t know entered my home while my children were sleeping. He stood over my 7 year old daughter's bed playing with himself and I had to fight to protect my children, hitting him with a bat and screaming at him to get out. My son helped hold him until the police arrived.
Even after this terrifying event, the man was released within 24 hours. No warnings were issued. No protection was given. My children now wake up scared. I wake up scared. Our home, which should feel safe, feels like a prison.Every creak in the floor, every knock at the door sends fear through my chest.Every sound in the night reminds me of that moment.
When my son banged on the upstairs neighbor’s door for help, the woman the girlfriend of a registered sex offender who lives above us and has access to the building’s cameras told my son she wasn’t going to open the door. She never called 911. The same people who can watch my family daily through those cameras couldn’t be bothered to help us when we were in danger.
I am desperate to keep my babies safe to give them even a glimpse of peace and security in their own home.
I’m asking for your help to: Relocate my family to a safe home. Access counseling and legal support. Protect my children from ongoing threats. Every donation, every share, every prayer matters. My children are my world, and I will do everything I can to protect them. But I cannot do this alone.
Please, help me protect my children. They are my everything.funds will be used to relocate transport and reassure that me and my children are safe
