Hello! My name is Emily Blenck and I am a current graduate student at the University of Michigan, living with my boyfriend, Joey, and our two beloved cats, Zuko and Zero.

Just days ago, we found out Zuko requires an oral surgery to have some teeth removed and treat his gums, which are seriously infected. The vet told us that, given the severity of his condition, he has been placed on the emergency list for this operation and has been in a great deal of pain for awhile now.

Anyone who knows us knows how much our cats mean to us. Zuko is the sweetest boy who loves to watch birds and chipmunks, cuddle with his little brother, and make biscuits on mom and dad. We would do anything to make sure Zuko is happy, healthy, and comfortable, but paying for this surgery all on our own will put us in a severe financial hole. If you are someone who has a special bond with their pet, you can understand how much worry and pain this situation has caused us.

Zuko's surgery is scheduled for early September. Any donation, no matter how small, will help us a great deal. We thank our friends, families, and communities in advance for their generosity. Zuko, if he had any understanding of anything at all, would also be very thankful for the help.
