My friend Komal has had her cat for over ten years and she recently found out that he has FIP virus. It used to be fatal years ago, but now there’s an off market medication that isn’t approved by the FDA that has been curing cats by 84%. The problem is the oral medication is readily available but Zuko’s heart is weak, intestines aren’t pushing anything along (so won’t absorb oral meds), and he’s not eating/drinking so his liver is also affected. The vet suggested that she consider putting him down. But she found a medication site that will let her pick up injectable medication, then she will take Zuko into the vet for a feeding tube. She want to give it a shot because if this all works, he will pretty much fully recover (including his liver). It’s all still a risky chance, but she is going to try since he could have a full recovery. He’s still fighting and purring, and she really feels he wants to fight too.
