Hi good people. My name is Zsameria and I am in need of financial support in preparation for fibroid surgery.
I am still finding the words and it is immensely difficult asking for help (as some of you know), especially given the number of crises occurring all over the world, though I simply am unsure where else to turn.
Welcome to my page where, I am raising funds that will help me with a much needed surgery, medical bills, and post-surgery care - as I have a 5 week recovery period. The surgery will be a laparotomy, which is why my recovery is 5-6 weeks. Due to where the fibroids are, the doctors will have to cut above my belly button down.
I've been battling with fibroids for a while but I have spent years concealing and masking my symptoms, as well as been deeply private about my medical struggles, but more recently they have been causing me excruciating pain. If you know me, you may not have known about my struggle. Recently I have missed important functions and events because of the pain or been too self-conscious about my physical appearance. When the fibroids flare up, I appear pregnant and bloated. I simply couldn't get the surgery in the past, because I couldn't afford it.
The last three months were by far the scariest time of my life. It has been the longest flare up and symptoms reached an unimaginable peak, to where I can barely stand up due to the pain.
I never fathomed that fibroids would progress and become as extreme as it has and affect my daily routine, not to mention be so expensive just to not be in pain. My doctor has prescribed many pain killers and I take them when I need to but have been cautious due to not wanting to become addicted. I am filled with a mixed array of feelings from fear, embarrassment, resilience and gratitude as I share a bit of my journey and humbly turn to those willing and able to support me in my recovery back to health.
Please note, I have been masking my symptoms but due to the severity, I can no longer. If you see me out, just know it took a lot to show up. I want to continue to show up for my community but need support to continue to do so.
I am financially independent, single and do not receive financial support from my parents or other sources. I am a creative entrepreneur who is currently making money by part-time hosting, DJ'ing and hosting events with SwapDC, to avoid high level stress jobs that play a part in causing flare-ups. Avoiding high stress and high demand work has not been a desire but a necessity for my mental and physical health. When I have flare ups, I am unable to function causing me to withdraw mentally.
My goal is to get help so I can get this surgery to remove the fibroids and commit to doing what's necessary to stay healthy.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
With Love,
Zsameria
8/28/24 Update:
truly thankful for each one of you! My surgery was a success and I am not recovering. They removed 6 fibroids total and the largest was 9 lbs. Yes, I was carrying 10+ lbs of weight for 2 years. I am thankful to be able to have had the surgery and for the support from you all.
I will be recovering for the next 5-6 weeks.
I will post pictures once I heal. If any one wants to see the largest fibroid, let me know.
In Gratitude,
Zsameria

Hey good people, it’s been two weeks since my surgery and learning my new body day-by-day. First I want to thank each one of you for your love donations. I would not have been able to get this surgery and be able to heal wholly without you.
As of today I am able to laugh without pain, but it still hurts to sneeze or cough.
I’m on bed rest for the next 4 weeks due to the surgery and my incision, which is from my torso, down around my belly button, all the way to my groin area. It may not seem long but it’s long to me yal! But due to where the fibroids were, the incision was necessary to get all six fibroids out. Especially the largest which was 9 lbs in size…yes 9 lbs. My doctor said it felt like 11 lbs in her hands.
I haven been carrying around excessive weight and currently 10 lbs lighter.
I am processing pain and so much more as I heal but I know it’s all for the good. My doctor said as long as I heal correctly, I will be able to have babies & that makes me happy.
Thank you so much for your donations to help me in my healing journey to health. I am very optimistic for is to come.
Every single one of you has a special place in my heart. I truly am thankful and grateful for your kindness.
Love,
Zsameria
