At just 23 years old, Zorri, a recent college graduate with big dreams for her future is now facing a battle she never expected. Please read, share, and join her fight against cancer:

Over the past year, I've been sick, but I didn't realize how sick I truly was. I had become severely malnourished, struggled to walk without losing balance, felt constantly exhausted, and developed low iron anemia. When I went to my physician, she initially said everything looked fine, but at my mother's insistence, she ordered bloodwork.

When the results came back, I was told to go to the emergency room immediately. After more testing, doctors determined that I had severe iron-deficiency anemia. In April 2025, I began treatment under oncology and hematology, receiving medication, routine bloodwork, and eventually a blood transfusion in September to help stabilize my levels.

In July, I was excited to start a new job as an Admissions Coordinator at a nursing school. As part of the hiring process, I was required to get a TB screening. My first test came back inconclusive, so I returned two weeks later for another. When that test was also inconclusive, I was advised to get a chest X-ray for clarity.

The X-ray showed I was negative for TB, but it also revealed something I never expected: a large mass near my superior vena cava, close to my heart and major blood vessels. I was referred to a radiologist, who confirmed the findings.

By October 2nd, I was at a hematologist appointment for what I thought was routine testing for low iron anemia. After reviewing my scans, my doctor immediately recommended that I go to Yale New Haven Hospital for a full work-up on the mass. I thought I’d be there for a few days, but I ended up staying over two weeks.

During that time, I underwent:
  • 3 blood transfusions
  • 2 biopsies (one from my chest and one removing a lymph node in my neck)
  • 2 CT scans
  • An echocardiogram
  • A PET scan
  • Daily bloodwork
After weeks of uncertainty and testing, I finally received my diagnosis: Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

I am now beginning six rounds of chemotherapy, with the possibility of radiation treatments afterward. The road ahead will be long, but I’m determined to stay strong and fight through every step of this journey.

Unfortunately, being out of work for so long and facing ongoing medical bills has made this battle even harder. Any contribution, big or small, will go directly toward helping cover medical expenses, transportation to treatment, and recovery costs.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any support you can offer, whether that’s a donation, a share, or simply keeping me in your thoughts and prayers.
