Hello, my name is Zola Patrick. I'm the oldest daughter of my mother's children.
On May 2nd, after 3 different hospitals, we found out that my mother has Leukemia and pneumonia in blast stage. Dialysis and oxygen running 24hrs, she has 3 brain bleeds, stroke, heart rate elevated, and blood pressure dropped dangerously, multiple blood transfusions, gangrene, renal failure, blood and fluid in her lungs, being in ICU twice!!
MOM has finished the 1st stage and we are no longer on dialysis, lungs are doing well, no oxygen, we're finished with the first round of three different chemo, but there's another round. Before the next round of chemo, she has to have therapy. She has to gain strength to walk and sit up again, and it has taken a toll on the family and finances as well
