Support Zoey's Battle Against DIPG
Donation protected
Update: Yesterday at 9am Zoey was taken off of the ventilator with hopes being that she would be able to breathe on her own and return home on hospice care. Things unfortunately took a horrible turn and due to the placement of the tumor and where the tumor was applying pressure Zoey’s body quickly started to shut down. The following hours were filled with goodbyes, with everyone knowing what was soon to come. At 3:20 pm Zoey passed away after a hard fight that no 12 year old should even have to fight.
Our family has been struck with very unexpected and devastating news about Zoey, who at only 12 years old, has been diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), an aggressive tumor in the brain stem.
After being sick for about a week, Zoey was taken to the emergency room and sent home with a diagnosis of a “virus.” This past Saturday, after not improving, Zoey returned to the emergency room, where a CT scan revealed a mass on her brain. On Sunday, Zoey was transported to Madera Children’s Hospital for more intensive care, and on Monday morning, she was diagnosed with DIPG.
This has completely taken our family by storm. Not only is this cancer aggressive, fast-moving, and ultimately untreatable, but Zoey is also only 12 years old! We are asking for donations to help cover medical expenses and support Zoey’s father, who has to commute back and forth from Texas due to his job. The stress of figuring out finances on top of everything else shouldn’t be something he has to worry about.
Please send Zoey tons of love and prayers, as well as the rest of our family, as we are still trying to come to terms with what’s happening. Thank you all so much in advance!
