Your Support Can Make All the Difference in Zoey’s Fight

To know Zoey Reid is to love her. She’s that rare kind of person who lights up every room she walks into, a true social butterfly who builds deep connections wherever she goes. From childhood friends and volleyball teammates to classmates, coworkers, and players she’s recruited as a football recruiting assistant at Georgia Tech and Georgia Southern, Zoey’s warmth, resilience, and positivity have touched countless lives, including her doctors, nurses, and care team. Even now, as she faces unimaginable challenges, she continues to inspire everyone around her with her strength, grace, and unwavering faith in God.

Zoey’s Courageous Journey

Just two weeks before her 21st birthday and the start of her final college semester, Zoey received devastating news: Stage 4 Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive childhood cancer that’s even harder to treat in adults. While most students were planning their futures, Zoey began an 18-month battle for her life, enduring more than a year of chemotherapy, seven weeks of radiation, over 100 days in the hospital, and all the painful side effects that come with fighting cancer.

Through every hardship, Zoey’s faith never wavered. She has always believed that everything happens according to God’s plan, and that her story, the victories and the struggles, are already written with purpose. Even in her toughest moments, she leaned on prayer, scripture, and the strength that only faith can provide.
In the midst of treatment, Zoey remained determined to reach her goals. In December 2023, she proudly graduated from Georgia Southern University, earning her degree while still undergoing chemotherapy. Her perseverance, positivity, and trust in God carried her through every obstacle.

In March 2025, Zoey finally got to ring the bell, celebrating remission and the end of chemo. Her future looked bright again.

But just a few months later, in August 2025, her world was shaken once more: the cancer had returned. Undeterred, Zoey began another round of treatment. Despite the setback, she’s continued rebuilding her life, regaining strength, moving into her own place, working part-time, and taking on a new role as Head Coach for Lake Norman Charter’s Middle School Volleyball Team. Even while undergoing chemo, she shows up for her girls every day, determined to finish the season strong and show them what faith, courage, and resilience truly look like.

How You Can Help

This GoFundMe has been created to support Zoey and her family as they navigate the financial and emotional challenges of a second cancer fight, including medical expenses, travel expenses for treatment, and lost income from time away from work.

Your generosity, whether through a donation, sharing this page, or offering prayers, allows Zoey and her loved ones to focus on what truly matters: healing, faith, and hope for the future.

Every contribution, big or small, brings us one step closer to helping Zoey win this fight once and for all. Thank you for standing beside her, praying for her, and believing with her that God’s plan is always good, even in the hardest battles.
