Zoe is a 26-year-old artist, older sibling, advocate, and disability rights activist whose life has been shaped by resilience and creativity.
Nine years ago, Zoe had their right leg amputated below the knee due to a rare vascular condition. After years of exhausting medical interventions and countless attempts to preserve mobility, Zoe and their doctors made an incredibly difficult decision: a second below-the-knee amputation was necessary. This December, Zoe became a bilateral amputee at the age of 26.
This moment marks not just a medical milestone, but the beginning of a critical transitional year. One that will determine Zoe’s ability to heal, regain independence, and continue contributing with their unique voice and talents.
Many of you have asked how you can help. This fundraiser exists to meet an urgent, practical need: ensuring Zoe can live -very soon- in a safe, accessible home with access to their doctors, therapists, and support network during this pivotal year of recovery and rehabilitation.
The funds raised will help cover essential costs for:
• In-home physical modifications for bilateral mobility and transfers
• Durable medical equipment
• In-home hospital bed
• Nursing care
• Physical and occupational therapies
• Transportation
Zoe is determined, and the year ahead will be challenging. We invite you to help us create the foundation Zoe needs not just to recover, but to thrive.
With gratitude,
The Family & Friends Supporting Zoe
