Support Zoë's Gender Affirming Care

We are amazed and awed at how our community is showing up for Zoë in this moment. We started out with a goal of $5,000 based on the advice of GoFundMe to start lower with a manageable goal and in just five days we are almost there! The costs are actually much higher, so we are increasing the goal to more accurately reflect what all of the procedures, doctors appointments, travel, and post-care will cost us.

Hello dear friends! Our beloved Zoë April is doing a big thing this year - she’s moving toward her desires and getting gender affirming surgery. She’s got an appointment for FFS at the end of January 2025 and another procedure later this year and she needs our support.

As you know, it’s getting increasingly scarier to be visibly trans here in Florida and throughout the US. These procedures will allow Zoë to feel more like herself and to move through the world and the areas of rural Florida that we love with more ease and safety.

We are hopeful that the surgeries themselves will be covered by insurance so we are fundraising for the costs listed below. These costs may increase if the surgery is not covered but unfortunately we won’t know until right before they happen. As of now we are fundraising to cover:

costs for doc visits and surgeries (until reaching the “out of pocket maximum”)

pre- and post-operative care

travel and accommodation (for 2-3 surgeries and pre/post appointments)

time off work for recovery

gender affirming voice therapy
