On Saturday, September 6th at 11:44 PM, our beloved Zion Barrett tragically lost his life after being shot in the back. He was only 16 years old.

Our family is heartbroken by this unexpected and devastating loss. Zion was the 6th of 8 children and was raised since birth by his loving grandmother, who has lived in Lovejoy for over 20 years.

Zion was a bright light in our lives — a kindhearted, funny, and joyful young man who always knew how to make everyone laugh. His passing has left an unimaginable void in our hearts.
