Support Zeyda Foreman with her Medical Expenses

Hello, my name is Erika Foreman I'm reaching out on behalf of my mother, Zeyda Foreman. Zeyda has been facing the challenges of living with Multiple Sclerosis for almost 19 years, spending much of that time in a wheelchair. Until last year, she displayed incredible resilience, managing to independently transfer to and from her wheelchair, handle daily tasks, and even go for long walks with her dog, Bodie, covering almost 2 miles each day. She was truly living her life to the fullest potential.
Unfortunately, Zeyda suffered a major setback in November 2022. An infection associated with the Baclofen Pump in her stomach caused sepsis to move up into her brain causing delirium and cognitive dysfunction. This caused her to be confused, unable to identify her surroundings or loved ones, and suffering tremendous tiredness. The doctors said 50% of the people who get it to this extent never wake up. She is truly a miracle. I had spent countless days feeling overwhelmed and helpless, not knowing what to do. I wanted to help my mom in any way I could and help the family. I reached out to my good friend and my mom's dear friend Jessica, and she has been tirelessly advocating for my mother ever since. Subsequently, my father and Jessica collaborated to seek medical treatment due to our concerns about her condition because we knew she was not right and something seriously wrong. The next thing we knew she was being Life Flighted to Seattle where she had emergency brain shunt surgery and spent two months there experiencing a series of problems, including multiple brain operations and pneumonia.
Zeyda has shown incredible strength, surviving against the odds. Despite spending most of the past year in hospitals or nursing facilities, she only recently returned home on October 6th, 2023. Unfortunately, she has lost control of her lower body, impacting her ability to pivot, transfer, and control her bowels significantly reducing her independence. Although she faces a challenging road ahead, we hold onto hope that some functions may return with time.
Zeyda's journey has been marked by the unwavering support of her husband, twins, and a close-knit community. We've witnessed her remarkable resilience, symbolized by the word "Unbreakable" tattooed on her arm. She truly is a miracle. Now, as she adapts to her new reality, we are seeking assistance for ongoing nursing care, necessary equipment, and the myriad expenses associated with her condition.
Our family has endured a tremendous amount, and I am reaching out with the hope that our generous community can come together to support Zeyda and our family. She has touched the lives of many with her kindness and infectious smile, always ready to give selflessly. Your contributions will make a meaningful difference in helping them navigate this challenging journey, and I am grateful for any support you can provide. Together, let's show Zeyda the love and strength she has shared with us over the years.
