Hello! We are Jonah and Zelda and we appreciate you coming to our GoFundMe to either share or even to donate!
Both Jonah and Zelda are transgender women who have struggled to survive in Tennessee. We have both been struggling to maintain consistent income and even social spaces due to being in constant survival mode. We have even recieved multiple funds from Trans Aid Nashville because of safety and survival concerns. Zelda has struggled with maintaining income due to her legal information not being changed, which impacts job security and hiring ability with many of Tennessees employers. She has also struggled with financial issues due to massive family debt and has even had to file for bankruptcy and cut ties with family. This has severely impacted their ability to find housing outside of the state because of low credit and low income. Zelda has been on HRT for 5 years and has also been struggling to maintain consistent refills in Tennessee. The fear of the inability to afford housing, the increase in violence towards the queer community, and the fear of being unable to access gender affirming care has led to the need to find a home in a blue state.
Jonah came out as a transgender woman within the last year and has been unable to transition medically because of safety concerns and the inability to afford HRT. It has become increasingly more difficult to recieve gender affirming care here in Tennessee because of the current administration.
She has also struggled with income due to the current job market and medical issues.
Both Zelda and Jonah have AuADHD and struggle with anxiety disorders. This has caused other medical issues. These medical problems, many of which have been caused by extreme stress, can be helped in a safer environment.
Jonah and Zelda also have two lovely cats named Francine and Gizmo. These two are ESA animals and will need to be moved along side their moms. They are sweethearts! Francine is half manx so shes a little bit weird with her long back legs and stubby tail while Gizmo is a cute torti!
We are seeking to raise $6000. This is because we will need to break out lease a few months early which will cost around $2000. We will also need $3,000 for moving costs, and $1000 for housing costs.
