Zechariah, my son, has faced unimaginable challenges over the past few years. In 2022, after receiving the Covid shot, he developed a life-threatening autoimmune disease that left him hospitalized. Doctors worked tirelessly to discover what was attacking his immune system, causing his muscles and even vital organs to fail. After months of uncertainty, they diagnosed him with Dermatomyositis MDA5, a rare and newly identified variant. Zechariah was quickly placed on chemotherapy, multiple medications, and weekly IVIG infusions.

During his long hospital stay, Zechariah had a powerful encounter with Christ Jesus that transformed his heart. He became known throughout the hospital as the young man who shared his faith with everyone he met—staff members, nurses, and fellow patients alike. His story of hope and resilience touched many lives, and after two years of treatment, Zechariah made a full recovery. Despite doctors’ predictions, he is now four months free from all medications—a true miracle.

This year, Zechariah felt called to take another step in his faith journey by joining InterCP International, a respected missionary organization. He completed their intensive training and is now preparing for a two-week mission trip to a region where Christ must be preached . Zechariah is funding this trip himself and will be away from work, covering his own airfare, food, and lodging. As his mom, I am so proud of his courage and commitment.
