Support Zeb Smith after losing his mom

On September 13, we in the Project SAFE community lost a very special person. LaDonna Smith, a beloved community organizer, passed away unexpectedly leaving behind her 17-year old son Zeb. We need us now to help him with basic living costs and covering funeral costs.

Please, help a child who has lost his mom. Zeb is a sweet and gentle teenager with a heart of gold. He loved his mom. She taught him about valuing family and home and safety, and how to build a loving and strong community. He is a stand up kid who always did what was right by his mom and community. He is kind, patient, and in need of your help. After his most tender years have been spent engaging in building community in the city's most neglected neighborhood of Kensington, let's show up for him now.

LaDonna was a long-time community organizer, advocate, and friend whose work in harm reduction and care work was constant. Most recently, she had established and become the Executive Director of Serenity House, a community-drop in space where visitors could receive clothes, showers, meals, take naps, and more.

It was through her tireless efforts that this space came into existence. She never hesitated to help people meet their needs.

Please help us care for her son as she has cared for so many in our community.

We met in 2016 when I joined the organization and Ladonna was a mentor and leader to me when we established Serenity House.
