UPDATE: We first want to thank everyone for your donations and also your continued support! We couldn't of done this without you!! Second : Zaylee is currently at St. JUDE in Memphis Tennessee. She is getting treatment this Wednesday. Her treatment will consist of thumb removal surgery!! She is inpatient that night and will start physical therapy and occupational therapy right after to get function back in her hand. We have talked about prosthetics once she is healed up completely. Her surgeon here at St. JUDE has been doing these surgeries for over 30 YEARS!!!! It definitely put my mind at ease with hearing that as I have been a nervous and emotional wreck with everything!!! Zaylee is the strongest girl I know!! I know this will make her even stronger!!! Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers!!

On August 1st, our daughter Zaylee, who is just 8 years old, was diagnosed with a rare soft tissue cancer called epithelioid sarcoma. Just days before, she had surgery to remove a lump from her thumb, and we were devastated to learn that it was cancer. The doctors did their best to remove as much as they could, but they weren’t able to get clear margins without risking damage to her thumb. Now, Zaylee needs another surgery to remove the rest of the tumor and surrounding tissue, and her treatment will require us to travel from our home in Nebraska to Texas for specialized care.

This diagnosis has turned our world upside down. We are doing everything we can to support Zaylee, but the costs of travel, lodging, and ongoing medical care are overwhelming. Zaylee doesn’t know the full details yet, but we are focused on making sure she feels safe, loved, and supported every step of the way. She is a strong, sweet girl with a big heart, and she deserves every chance at the best possible outcome. Zaylee loves animals, gymnastics, monkey bars, crafts, little trinkets, playing with her cousins, and Roblox. She is truly the light of our life, and we want to do everything we can to help her get back to the things she loves.
